Army Life Part 2

Getting used to 'what the fuck'
Army food's beginning to suck.
Always having to avoid the truck,
Guess it's just our stupid luck.
Rainy weathers are a delight,
They put the officers in a plight,
Giving us more admin time in the night.
Learning drills are a bore,
They surely make our poor feet sore.
Under that freaking scorching sun,
Sweating isn't really much fun.
Handling the m16's a chore,
With tons of technical stuff galore.
Treating ur rifle like ur wife,
Spoiling it will cost ur life.
Everything has a time limit,
When time's up it sends us into a fit.
If we're late we make sergeant angry,
And punishment makes us even more hungry.
The 4 and 6km road marches suck,
On completion i will look like muck.
Carrying 10kg while walking aint easy,
My god, does it make u feel quite queasy!
Training everyday will improve our physical,
If only the trainings weren't so typical.
Routine like warmups are damn boring,
They always make me feel like snoring.
Lights always out at 10.30 sharp,
Cannot sleep also must not harp.
Bunk checks will soon get nasty,
But so far they are still treating us kindly.
Rushing about is really a chore,
Wasting time is no doubt a bore-
ESPECIALLY when most of the things u've learnt before.
Sometimes u just wanna curse and swear,
But heng u got ur buddy right there.
Standard obstacle course is chicken
Except the 4 metre high narrow wooden
Plank, that left me very much shaken.
I've become the chin-up IC,
In the end kenna blister for free.
Everyday waking at 5.30am,
Boring routine really makes me shout 'damn!'
Time crawls by when u want it to pass
Hope such monotony will not last.
Who knows what the field camp will bring,
7 solid days without bathing;
And eating only food rations for nothing!
Gosh i hope i wont have to sleep in a trench,
Dug out in the ground with a horrible stench.
Pray it doesnt rain that bad,
Else I'll be a very sad lad.
Life is getting better and more adjustable,
Especially with friends right by your side.
And though it may not be very comfortable,
Im sure in them I can confide.
Training no doubt will get tougher,
And the journey ever more rougher.
But one thing i will not forget-
That is never never never to fret!
And one last thing to profess
All my friends out there, I miss u yes!

army life part 1

Whole day shouting 'yes sergeant!'
Sitting on the stupid floor.
washing clothes with detergent.
Sir checks bunk and knocks the door.
Progressive training they emphasize.
The officers seem to sympathise.
But what lies under this wonderful disguise?
Even I may not see through these lies.
Dreadfully slow does time crawl by,
so much so that I want to cry.
Lectures are boring and drills are dry,
nothing to do but Sit and SSigh.

Lying on bed thinking of home,
I feel as if im about to foam
at the mouth and die from being home sick
with every painful clock hand tick.
Gone are the days of games and leisure.
In army u will not get any such pleasure.
Ur job is to serve the nation with loyalty,
But at this standard we can go drink kopi.
When it comes to individual field craft,
its something u definitely cannot laugh
about, as it IS, incredibly tough
to complete without getting vexed-
It's worst than being taxed.
The physical training claims to strengthen your body
I see it as being, rather shoddy.
But perhaps that's the only likable thing in army,
something that new enlistees will see.
2 weeks confinement without booking out-
Cadets can do nothing more than pout.
This crushing cruelty is but reality,
a strict regiment under absolute authority.
Oh heavens guide me pass this boring lap
Of two years, and let my hair grow back A.S.A.P
LOL i cant help but laugh at such a mishap,
Now i have to wear my jockey cap!
Friends alike we will share our woes,
and it's such things that keep me on my toes.

They put me in Falcon company but i cant seem to fly,
It appears their aspirations must be high.
But our throats are soon going dry
After all that shouting to the sky.
Oh gosh hearken all the vulgarities,
A vast contrast with all the 'AMENITIES'
That the camp has to offer.
With monthly pay, what else can i say.
I hope in army, i can have a good day!

once so fair, now no hair

NO more dreary afternoons
Lazing on the sofa watching cartoons.
Instead, serving army under those pompous goons,
Bound by vocal tunes
And paid mild fortunes
For monthly toil and hassle,
Starting with 2 months with rifle and vassal!
Oh how the officers would cackle
At the lowly recruit
Without rank and honour
-just some mindless pursuit!
But behold what the first 2 weeks have in store.
Not a mindless puppet washed up on shore,
But training with riches galore!
Both for the mind and body alike
Preparing us for that long hike
In which we would defend our country death alike,
And never say die without a fight!
Oh what delight
Shall it be to become a man
On the very grounds which i as a child once ran.
Never will it be the same again
After all the trouble, work, and pain.
The jungle and dirt would be my new home
A fearless soldier the lands shall i roam.
With friends and family i shall miss,
Such feelings are to be gone when i enlist!
Shuddering so suddenly in sheer anxiety,
At what a new environment will be!
A place where rules and commands have to be obeyed,
Where rigorous training and learning await
The poor fragile child that is about to enlist -
Who cant help but shake his fist
And groan at how time flies toward this dreadful fate,
Sigh, i hope on january 7th, i will not be late!
